Corberán: “We are going to need the best from us and from the fans”
The Valencia CF coach previews Friday’s game against Sevilla FC
Francis Coquelin talked to Movistar Liga de Campeones in Spain following the 0-3 defeat to Ajax, which he believed was not a result that Valencia CF deserved to suffer.
His feelings after the game
"I'm disappointed. It's difficult to say that we had a good game when lost 0-3. We had a good first half, had plenty of chances, played well... but we lacked goals. That's football. We know that this is a difficult group, and now we have two games coming up against LOSC Lille. We're going to try to forget about this defeat as quickly as possible."
Effectiveness
"In the first half we did things fairly well. It's a shame about the penalty, because Parejo normally scores from his spot kicks. We had enough chances to score after that, but it wasn't to be. The fans want a win, and so do we; soon we have another opportunity to change things."
Ajax's effect on the defence
"We defend very well away from home. At home we try to play a little more, and it's true that we leave a little more space at the back. We are going to continue like this, and soon we have a new opportunity."
The effect of the defeat
"We competed against a great team and we fought very well. I would say that 0-3 is an excessive result. The ball didn't go in, but we have to take something positive away from this game and move on."
